Age Group Motivational Time Standards (B-AAAA)

Understanding the USA Swimming Motivational Time Standards is important, especially if you are new to the sport. The time standards are a tool meant to help swimmers rate and rank times.  One of the goals that all swimmers should have is to get better.  Get better at something, anything, everything!  A swimmers times are one way that we can see who is improving.

Within USA Swimming there are Motivational Times Standards. These times standards start at “B” standards and go all the way to “AAAA” standards for each age group.  They can be found above.  The USA Swimming Motivational Time Standards use these age groups:  10&Under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, and 17-18.  It is sometimes extra challenging (but not impossible!) for 8&Unders to get to the first level of the 10&Under age group – but it is still something that they can shoot for!  We have made special time standards for our T2 8&Unders so that they can join in on setting some time standard goals!

Florida LSC Championship Qualifying Times

These times are the times required to attend our Florida Championship Meets.  There is an age group meet, commonly called FLAGS.  This is for 14&Under athletes.  There is a Senior Meet as well for athletes ages 15&Older.  There are Short Course Yard and Long Course Meter Times for each meet.  If the meet is in Short Course Yards and you have a Long Course Meter time, that time will qualify you for the Short Course Yard Meet.  It is also the same the other way around.

High Performance Qualifying Times

These are the times required for attending higher level USA Competitions or making higher level recognition teams (such as Scholastic All American).  These standards and meet types generally change from year to year as well as which meets T2 Aquatics is attending and focusing on.  Set your goals now!
