GTSA Finishes Summer Season Strong at A3 League Championships

As the summer swim season comes to an end, our swimmers get to show how hard they have been working all summer by participating in the Championship meets! Every summer, GTSA participates in the Area 3 League (A3), which consists of several teams in the Tampa area. Mini-meets are held each week to help prepare our developmental swimmers for  the swim  meet atmosphere.  At these  meets, the swimmers are introduced to healthy competition, the varying swimming events, and how to line up for races. This past Saturday, July 26, GTSA and STAT attended the A3 League Championships in Land’O’Lakes, Fl. Since the merger of GTSA and STAT teams was announced last week, we decided to sit together at the meet so the swimmers could get a  chance to meet their new  teammates!

GTSA and STAT had 46 athletes participate in the meet, with a total of 142 swims! STAT finished the meet with 477 points, which won them 2nd  place overall!! GTSA finished 4th with 105 points. Two swimmers swam their absolute  best and finished first over-all in their respective age groups, winning them the coveted high-point awards! For the 8&Under girls,  Brooke Beede from STAT, and for the 6&Under boys, Jeffrey Smith from GTSA! We also had many swimmers  tackle events they had never participated in before, as well as eight swimmers, Zarah Foucault, Maxwell Pollack, Dylan Serrano with GTSA and JT Hoffmeier, Karson Freestone, Maren Addison, Hannah Lockwood, and Kaitlyn Porter with STAT, who competed in their first meet on Saturday! Congratulations to all the swimmers for a job well done this past weekend!

GTSA will be back in action this coming weekend, August 1st-3rd, at the Area 3/5 Championships in St. Petersburg, Fl!
