Dear US Aquatics Club Swim Families,

According to the CDC website, “There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19 (cdc.gov).

With that said, the CDC recommends social distancing as a critical tool in reducing the spread of the coronavirus. As a result, all US Aquatics Club swim practices are suspended until further notice. The City of Atlanta has closed all natatoriums until further notice.

Please take a minute and visit the CDC’s website www.cdc.gov to learn more about the coronavirus. The following safety precautions should be practiced at all times:

  • Sneeze and cough into your elbow or cover with a tissue. In other words, keep germs off your hands. Put used tissues in a wastebasket and then wash your hands.
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer (with at least 60% alcohol) if soap and water are not available.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. Germs spread that way.
  • Don’t share personal items, including toothbrushes, towels, cups/glasses, utensils, etc.
  • Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces that are frequently touched, using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe following the instructions on the label.
  • Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

Please click on the coronavirus icon on our website to view other pertinent information regarding the virus, practice updates, and recommendations for remote training.   As always, we are available to answer your questions, so please us know if you need additional information.
