CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
BEGINNER CLASS - YOUTH
BEGINNER level with introduction to swimming. This level will focus on motor skills, face in the water, blowing bubbles, holding breath, going underwater and jumping in the pool. Advanced skills in this group will include swimming underwater and focus on unassisted swimming for 5-10 feet. For children 4-6 years-old.
INTERMEDIATE CLASS - YOUTH
For swimmers who can swim 5-10 ft. unassisted. This will focus on beginner's freestyle, arm recovery for swimming unassisted for 20ft., and introduction to backstroke. Advanced skills in this group will include swimming for 25yds., rotary (lateral) breathing, and full, legal backstroke.
ADVANCED SWIMMERS - YOUTH
For swimmers who can correctly swim freestyle and backstroke for 25 yards. They will build strong skills and endurance in freestyle and backstroke, this level will teach breaststroke and butterfly. For swimmers who can swim all competitive strokes, this level will also focus on introducing to competitive swimming techniques and maintaining skills.
ADULT BEGINNERS (AB) CLASS*
This is a beginners’ level that will focus on teaching unassisted swimming with a modified stroke. The goal is to be able to swim 2-3 laps unassisted with a beginners’ freestyle or breaststroke. It is encouraged to communicate any specific goals to the instructors during the first class.
ADULT STROKE CLINIC (ASC) CLASSES*
For those who are proficiently swimming 2-3 laps unassisted. This level will focus on improving strokes, techniques and distance. It is encouraged to communicate any specific goals to the instructors during the first class.
