FLEET Attends High School Regionals with 26 Swimmers and Sends Five to UIL High School State Championships

Richard Boucher

While this weekend may be Valentine’s Day for most of us, for 5 members of our FLEET Family it will be their opportunity to represent FLEET and their high schools at the UIL Texas State Meet.

Luke DiMiceli, Carson Kaufman, Morgan Hanson, Sydney Nguyen and Ben Scholl have all qualified due to their outstanding performances at the High School Regional Championships 2 weekends ago. They have qualified by either winning their events at regionals or putting up one of the fastest times in the state.

Carson won the 200 and 500 Freestyle individually and, along with Morgan, qualified in the 200 Free Relay.

Ben won the 50 and 100 Freestyle, setting a pool record in the process, and qualified as part of a 200 Freestyle Relay, along with Luke.

Luke also will be representing in the 200 IM and Sydney will be part of her Team's 400 Freestyle Relay.

We are so proud of not only these 5, but of all 26 FLEET swimmers who competed at Regionals.

Despite swimming for many different high schools, watching FLEET friends cheer and support each other through the highs and lows that accompany any Championship Meet was fantastic to watch. Even though the caps they wore may not have matched at this meet, the FLEET Family love showed through.

Good luck this weekend and show off your FLEET Pride!
