Maintaining Momentum in APRIL —  BIG things on the horizon

DCS will pause for a brief rest during Spring Break (April 8 - 13) and will return with an immediate focus on THREE HUGE EVENTS.

1.  2019 Swim-a-thon is here in 30 DAYS!  Our biggest team fundraiser of the year is scheduled for April 15-17th. ALL swimmers, all groups will participate in the second leg of our marathon swim to Omaha, Nebraska, site of the 2020 Olympic Swimming Trials. We need everyone’s help to reach our team distance and fundraising goals: 420 miles and $20,000!

Remember, funds raised will enable us to purchase a touch pad timing system so that we can easily host more sanctioned swim meets in our home pool! We urgently need your assistance.

Click the Swim-A-Thon banner on our website and follow the prompts to set up your personal account. Questions? Please ask us.

2. DCS will host two VIP guest coaches from two of the nation’s finest club teams from April 18-20, Jason Cochran (Machine Aquatics, based in Northern Virginia) and Jeremy Cochran (Nation’s Capitol Swim Club, Bethesda, MD / Washington DC area)!! These coaches will partner with Coach Jrod, Coach Matthew and Coach Nicole to observe our DCS swimmers and share training tips and best practices. Both Jeremy and Jason lead the Age Group teams within their clubs. Each has helped elevate countless Age Group champions as well as National Qualifiers and Olympic Trial Qualifiers. Their visit is an awesome opportunity for our swimmers. More information on their visit will be coming soon!

3. The DCS Team Banquet is slated for Saturday, April 27th! This annual gathering to celebrate our swimmers’ accomplishments will be held at the First Baptist Church in Douglasville, GA. Everyone is encouraged to attend an afternoon of fun, fellowship and food. More info and RSVP in coming days.
