Olympian Tara Kirk Visits Dynamo Dynamo had a special visit on Saturday September 29, by Olympian and American Record Holder Tara Kirk. This event was part of our Swim-a-thon from last spring, and was a wonderful experience for the Dynamo athletes who attended. Tara talked about her career in swimming, with a look to the Beijing Olympics (2008), and beyond. The athletes then participated in a clinic on Breaststroke with Tara and the Dynamo Staff, capped off with an opportunity to get an autograph and a picture with Tara. The 2007 National Select Camps will be held October 11-14 at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. For the first time the Boys` and Girls` National Select Camps will be held at the Training Center on the same weekend. The Head Coach for the girls` camp is Pete Morgan from the Curl-Burke Swim Club in Virginia. The boys` Head Coach is Roric Fink from the Tucson Ford Dealers Aquatics in Arizona. Gary Taylor named GA Swimming Age Group Coach of the Year!(1 Oct)   Congratulations to Dynamo`s own Gary Taylor on being named the Georgia Swimming Age Group Coach of the Year, as announced at the Georgia All-Star Banquet September 23rd. Gary is in his third year with our Club, and is a very valuable member. His enthusiasm and commitment have been a great addition. Five of Gary`s swimmers placed on the Top 16/25 lists for the past year. Congratulations on a well-deserved award! (1 Oct)

08/10 - Indianapolis (Aug. 9, 2007) - In preliminary competition this morning at the U.S. Junior National Championships, Carly Lyons swam a 1:04.43 in the women`s 100 Meter Backstroke to qualify for the 2008 U.S.A. Swimming Olympic Trials to be contested next summer in Omaha, Nebraska. The top two swimmers in each event will qualify for the United States Olympic Team headed to Beijing. Carly will be attending the University of California at Los Angeles this fall. Congratulations Carly!

Congratulations to all of our participants at the Senior State Championship meet this past weekend! Thank You to all of the parents who made the trip up to Athens. Your support was appreciated by all the swimmers, both in the stands and on deck with our outstanding show of timers. Likely, the performance of the meet came from Geoff Faux who swam a 23.54 for a new National Championship time standard and was a mere .05 off the Olympic Trials cut of 23.49.
