USA Swimming is hosting an in-person coach clinic on Friday and Saturday, December 10-11 in association with the Speedo Winter Junior Championships.

The clinic topics will focus on the American Development Model, Stroke Technique and Coach Health and Wellness sessions. All the information is geared towards coach improvement. It’s a great opportunity to connect with other coaches in the area and share best practices.

The clinic will be offered to all coaches at the cost of $25 per coach and $100 for a coaching staff!

The Friday session will be hosted in the evening at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center on the UT Austin Campus.  Coaches will attend Friday Final’s Session at Junior Nationals meet from the stands, followed by a discussion on the swims of the night hosted by Brendan Hansen, where we will discuss stroke technique.

Saturday will run from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm at the Sports Recreation Center on the campus of University of Texas-Austin.  Without revealing too much information, coaches will learn what makes a quality coach, how to create an environment suitable for athlete and coach success, coach wellness and well-being, and much more.   This will not be a “sit still and listen to someone read off a PowerPoint” clinic.  The sessions will be more facilitation based, allowing coaches to interact with one another in a collaborative learning environment.
