SERVICE HOURS and FUNDRAISING REQUIREMENTS—2022-2023

Service Hours per Family (with one or more swimmers in year-round practice groups)

For the 2022-2023 swim year there is a 10-hour per family service hour requirement.  The primary way that families earn service hours is by signing up to help with at swim meets.  Swim teams cannot successfully run meets that provide opportunities for swimmers to compete without the help of team parents.  At each meet, the Meet Director, officials, people running the computers, timers, clerk of course, safety monitors, meet runners, etc. are ALL volunteers.  When PEAK hosts a meet, parents are needed to help even if their swimmers are not swimming at the PEAK hosted meet.  YOU ARE WANTED AND NEEDED!

Families may also earn service hours by serving as a board member, becoming an official, serving as a committee chair, or helping with other PEAK sponsored events.

Signing up for service hours but not showing up or not participating in the assigned activity may result in a charge of $75 per hour following the event.  Reasonable excuses for failing to show for service hours may be presented to the Board of Directors for resolution.

If service hours are not completed, as per the registration agreement, the number of hours not earned as of July 31, 2023  will result in a $75/hour charge which will be billed to your card on file on August 1, 2023.

You must have an active swimmer on the team to earn service hours.  If you choose to withdraw your swimmer from the team before August 1 you will be charged for any unworked hours; hours billed may be prorated depending on the timing of the withdrawal.

Fundraising Requirement per Family (with one or more swimmers in the year-round practice groups)

PEAK expenses include coaches’ pay, water rental, USA Swimming and Gulf Swimming fees, operating expenses, and other club related fees.  Income to pay for these expenses comes from registration and practice group fees and fundraising.

For the 2022-2023 year, there is a $150/per family fundraising requirement.  PEAK will host a spring fundraising event in which swimmers may participate to meet the requirement; as per the registration agreement balance remaining for fundraising (up to $150) not credited by April 30, 2023 will be billed to your card on file on May 1, 2023.
