Ambush attended the annual Damon McCoy meet this past weekend in Shreveport, Louisiana. We always love going to this long course meet because it really kicks off the summer fun with music, snowcones, sun, and lots of swimming! Our team represented Nacogdoches and Lufkin very well with its 18 swimmers. Those swimmers achieved 66% best times while achieving 17 'B' Time Cuts, 13 'BB' Time Cuts, 2 'A' Time Cuts, and 3 'AA' Time Cuts. Ambush Swim Team recently attended the Tyler Long Course Invite at the Tyler ISD aquatic center. The team took 17 of it's athletes from both Nacogdoches and Lufkin pools and competed in 78 races over the course of 3 days. At the swim meet Ambush swimmers achieved 63% best times that included 20 'B' Time Standards, 15 'BB' Time Standards, and 1 'A' Time Standard. Congratulations to Kylie McCarty for representing Team Ambush well at TAGS (Texas Age Group State Championship) in San Antonio. She won 1st place in the 100 freestyle on the last day of competition Sunday with the time of 1:00.69 good enough for the gold medal. She swam 7 events over 4 days of racing at the new $27 million dollar North Side Aquatics Facility in San Antonio.
