November Ambush Open

Philip Franke

This past Saturday Ambush hosted its second meet of the year at the Lufkin Swim Center. The meet consisted of 101 Athletes from 5 different teams, ranging from Tyler to League City. Ambush athletes swam extremely fast, producing 22 'B' Times, 9 'BB' Times, 1 'A' Time, and 1 'AAA' Time. Along with these motivational time cuts there were countless best times, great learning experiences, and 7 team records that were broken. Ambush ended up WINNING the meet with a combined team score of 3184, while South Shore Sails took 2nd with 1407 points, and Longview Metro placing 3rd with 1134 points.

We will continue to improve our technique, endurance, and speed heading into the next portion of our season. Our next meet will be our series of Championship meets taking place in the greater Houston Area. The deadline to sign-up is November 21st, so please sign up for the meet that you will be attending. The meets are sanctioned as 13&older - Gulf Senior Champs (Katy, TX) or 12&younger - Gulf Fall Champs. If there is any questions or confusion about which meet to sign up for, feel free to contact Phil Franke or Erik Cozzad to sign up.

Lastly, we would like to thank all the parents, officials, and volunteers that make Ambush run in such a fun, positive, and efficient way. We are very excited to see the growth of the team since the COVID-19 pandemic and strive to keep growing with your help. As always, Swim Fast and Go Ambush!!
