Asa Lawrence Coach

Head Age Group Coach: Gold,Developmental, Intermediate

Coach Asa Lawrence is a local product who swam for Spring High School and The Dads Club. He won the 50 yard Freestyle at the 1982 Short Course Junior Nationals. After high school Asa accepted a scholarship to swim for Eddie Reese at the University of Texas. While at UT he became a 7-time NCAA All American, the Southwest Conference Champion in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle.  Asa was the 1987 U.S. Open gold medalist in the 50 meter freestyle. He was a member of two USA National Swim Teams: the 1986 World Aquatic Championships held in Madrid, Spain and the 1987 World University Games held in Zagreb, Yugoslavia. Both times Asa earned a Gold Medal as a member of the USA Men’s 4x100 meter Freestyle Relay. He has been coaching since 1988 and focuses on techniques and aspects of competitive swimming.

Kevin Dalpe Coach

Coach Kevin was a life long swimmer of The Woodland Hills Wahoo Swim Team. Coach Kevin was a graduate of Kingwood Park High School and was a member of the K-Park Men's Varsity swim team all four years. He made it to regionals and was an alternate at state his senior year. While swimming under Coach Greg McLain learned the value of hard work and swimming technique. Since graduation, he was an assistant coach for the Woodland Wahoo's in 2015 and an assistant coach for Forest Cove Frogs in 2016. Coach Kevin was the Head Coach for Forest Cove Frogs in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Cole Wilson Coach

Coach Cole began swimming at New Caney High School. He joined NEHA for a short time in high school. Following graduation he attended Centenary College of Louisiana. His main strokes were butterfly and freestyle. He started coaching with the East Montgomery County summer league swim team as the head coach in 2018. He is currently pursuing an associates of science degree at Lonestar College and plans to transfer to a university to become a physical therapist. Coach Cole says, “Working with kids has always been a dream of mine, and here, I get to fulfill that by teaching something I love.”

Madeline Merz Coach

Coach Maddy has been a competitive swimmer since the age of six. She began swimming in her hometown of Bedford, NH. Coach Maddy continued swimming through high school in Charlotte, NC and spent her senior year as a captain of the team. She also swam on the intramural team in college at NC State University. Her main strokes were breast stroke and back stroke. In addition to swimming herself, Maddy began teaching swimming lessons and coaching swim teams, eventually becoming a head coach, throughout high school and college. This experience has given her critical coaching skills, including unique techniques in improving swimmers’ strokes.
