Registration for Sea Turtles 2021

Group swim lessons will be at Klein Oak High School this fall! We are offering eight 30-minute lessons, M-T-W-TH, with Friday available as makeup days for inclement weather or KOHS swim meets. Require a minimum of 2 students and a maximum of 4 students per class.

Cost:

SSAN registration fee- $20 per swimmer

Class fee- $90 per swimmer/2 weeks

Fall Sessions:

Session 1- January 11 - 21

Session 2- January 25 - February 4

Session 3- February 8 - 18

Session 4- February 22 - March 4

Session 5- March 22 - April 2

Class Times:

Level 1 - 5:00-5:30 PM

Level 2 - 5:40-6:10 PM

Level 3 - 6:20-6:50 PM

Levels: 

Level 1- Minimum age of 3.0 - 4.5 years old. This class is designed for children who are ready for swim lessons without their parent(s) and willing to work with an adult coach. Prior swim lesson experience is strongly encouraged. The child must be able to listen, be separated from their parents during the lesson, work in a group, follow instructions, and wait for their turn. This class will focus on getting the child comfortable in the water, blowing bubbles, putting their face in the water, kicking, jumping into the water to the instructor, begin front/back floating, and beginning water safety.

Level 2- Minimum age of 3.5 - 5.0 years old. This class is for beginner swimmers who are comfortable putting their face in the water. They must be able to listen, be separated from their parent during the lesson, work in a group, follow instructions, and wait for their turn. Skill focus is front/back floating and gliding, kicking with straight legs, jumping into shallow and deep water, advanced water safety, and begin learning the competitive strokes of freestyle and backstroke. 

Level 3- Minimum age of 4.0 years old. A swimmer must have complete the skill requirements in level 2 to advance to level 3. The child must be able to listen, be separated from their parents during the lesson, work in a group, follow instructions, and wait for their turn. This class is for intermediate swimmers that can swim short distances by themselves. Skill focus is breathing to side in freestyle, learning backstroke arms, treading water, jumping/diving into the deep end, horizontal rollovers, somersaults, and fundamental dolphin kick.

Facility Policy: KOHS requires ALL children and adults to wear a mask at all times when in the school building or natatorium. A swimmer may remove their mask only when they in the water for their lesson. A Parent/guardian must accompany the child to the natatorium entry at every swim lesson waiting for the instructor to bring the swimmer's inside. Parents are not allowed inside the natatorium but may wait outside the exit doors at the back of the natatorium.
