On Friday, February 14, 2020, Tomball High School freshman swimmer, Ava Place, attended the UIL 5A State Championship Swim Meet in Austin, Texas.  Ava represented her school in the 50 Yard Freestyle event.  In order to attend the state championship meet a swimmer must qualify as top two at their regional meet or be one of the next 8 fastest swimmers in the state to be called-up to attend.  Ava placed third at her regional meet in Magnolia and entered the state championship as the second call-up from the state of Texas.

After placing 9th in finals with a time of 24.68 seconds, Ava returned for finals on Saturday to swim again with a finals time of 24.54.  Ava is a member of TASC's Senior Team and will continue on this season to represent TASC in the Texas Age Group Championship Meet (TAGS) in March.  Best of luck to Ava as she continues her championship season!
