Over the years she has given her time to the Tomball Memorial High School Swim Team as a team mom, overseeing hospitality for swim meets and team functions.  She spends her summers volunteering for Lakewood Lightning summer league swim team, organizing group practices and swim lessons.  Mrs. Aubele has a degree in marine biology and loves sharks; most especially the hammerhead shark.  And in her free time prefers swimming in the ocean.

Rita Sims Site Coordinator

Learn-to-Swim Site Coordinator

USS Official's Team Representative

Primary Location: Tomball Aquatic Center

Ms. Rita began swimming at the age of 7 in Houma, Lousiana.  She later became a lifeguard during the summers while leisurely enjoying the sport.  She joined the US Army and continued to swim for enjoyment but then transferred to the US Navy where she had to swim in order to advance from her class.  Once her grandchildren joined the sport she became an official for USA Swimming and NWAL using the corrective knowledge for strokes she gained to help athletes become more adept in their sport.  She is also certifed and has served in the role of a coach for USA Swimming with various teams she has been apart of including TASC.  However she has a love for people, so wherever needed she is one to step up and help.

After transferring to TASC she again found her joy and happiness in helping people.  While working as the Site Coordinator for the Tomball Aquatic Center practice location she is blessed to interact with the swimmers and parents in the learn-to-swim program.  She is often the first person they see upon entering the facility and usually the last they see when they leave.  It is her goal to make sure that they are comfortable and relaxed by reassuring them that swimming is fun.  To know a person she tries to keep in mind the following quotes:

"Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is a progress; working together is success." - Henry Ford

"Success is never final and failure is never fatal. It's your courage through both that counts." - Winston Churchill

"Do the best you can until you know better.  Then when you know better, do better." - Maya Angelou
