Sharks Swim School

 

 

 

 

Welcome to the SHARKS SWIM SCHOOL.  The Swim School is geared for young swimmers age 3+.  Small class sizes and a great staff of experienced teachers to ensure productive classes. 

 

  • Swim school classes are run at the Friendswood Nat year-round on Tuesday & Thursday evenings.
  • Class sessions run Tuesdays & Thursdays for 4 weeks. Each 4-week session is $135 + an annual registration fee of $25/ swimmer. Classes meet for 30 minutes.
  • Drop-in lessons are classes listed individually. Drop-in lessons are available year-round on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
  • Each swim school session is 8, 30-min lessons. Mini sessions will consist of 4 or 6 classes.
  • Our instructors are also available for private lessons at the Friendswood Nat, Mag Creek, Pomona, and mobile lessons. Private lessons are booked using the Vagaro app. Details and a direct link are below.

SHARKS Swim School:

  • Level 1 Ages 3+: Swimmers in this level will work on floats/glides, kicking with & without support on their back/stomach. Swimmers will work on beginning stroke skills for freestyle and backstroke.  
  • Level 2 Ages 3+: Swimmers in this level will continue to build stroke fundamentals for freestyle and backstroke. The diving progression will include sitting, knee, and squat dives. Swimmers will work towards completing 25 yards of free and back. 
  • Level 3 Ages 3+: Swimmers in this level will work on building stroke fundamentals for freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke. Swimmers will be introduced to butterfly (arms + legs) and flip turns.
       
  • Due to space, Level 3 classes will only run at select times during the year. Level 2 swimmers will work to graduate to the Discovery Pre-Team group. 
     
  • Swimmers will be grouped by age & ability level to ensure productive classes. There may be changes to the class placement after the first class assessments are completed.
     
  • Repeating a level is very common. Swimmers will need to master several skills before moving up classes. Due to the small class size, the coaches work to keep each swimmer advancing at their level. Repeating class does not mean that a swimmer will not continue working toward progressing to the next level.

Registration & Payment 

 

Class registration & payment is all done online. 8-class sessions are $135.

Small group classes have 3-6 swimmers in them based on the level. We keep a 3:1 swimmer to coach ratio.
 
 
Each swimmer will be charged an annual registration fee of $25. The fee will be added to the first session's fees. The fee is automatically charged once a year.
 
 
Private lessons are available- Private lessons are available year round on a limited basis. Generally, they are available Monday-Thursday 7:30 pm- 8:30 pm and Saturdays 10:30-12 pm.
 
Private lesson swimmers have a $25 annual registration fee. The cost of private lessons is $25-40/30min depending on the coach.  Click on the Vagaro link to view the current private lesson availablity.
