11-12 Girls 200 Medley Relay Claims Unofficial National Top Ten Time

Gary Roberson

This morning, four 11-12 year old girls competed in an unofficial medley relay and claimed a time that would place them top 10 in the nation for this season. The team consisted of Rowan Murphy on Backstroke, Sasha Kellerman on Breaststroke, Avery Leach on Butterfly and Sydney McDonald on Freestyle. Their time of 1:59.35 would place them as the 7th fastest team in the country this year and give them the 9th fastest time overall in the country for 11-12 year old girls.

Coronavirus has shortened several seasons and taken away several meets but it is still very cool to see a HEAT team with an unofficial top 10 national time and clearly a great achievement in a difficult year. It is important to celebrate achievements big and small when they happen at any level - especially this year! I know there are great things happening through all of our squads on a daily basis and I hope our swimmers stop and take a moment to be proud of themselves when those little victories do happen! Congrats to the 11-12 year old girls 200 medley and for all the HEAT swimmers, keep up the great work - effort pays off!
