Regarding when ASC can begin again, as you know, a great deal will depend upon the orders from the governor. His current stay-at-home order is in place until the end of the month and like you, we remain optimistic about the possibilities for getting the team back together.

I attended at Zoom meeting yesterday, April 19, 2020 with the Hawaiian Swimming Board of Governors and a great deal of talk was around ways in which teams could resume training (once a stay at home order is lifted) and what those protocols would look like. Things like, no use of locker-rooms, entering through one gate, exiting through another, one swimmer per lane (or two, but they would start at opposite ends)... Whatever is ultimately decided, our governing organization, USA Swimming, along with Hawaii State Government, the County of Hawaii, and HPA would guide our reunification efforts.

As you may know, USA swimming will not permit any competitions in May 2020, so we spoke about phase-in plans for practices. Numerous scenarios were discussed regarding competitions after June, 1 and it looks as though there will not be any championship level meets this summer, regardless.

We hope to launch a more extensive outreach to our membership by groups (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Senior) so that coaches can re-connect with their swimmers so stay tuned for more information on our efforts there.

All the best you and please share with your swimmer, that the coaching staff deeply misses them.
