July 10, 2018 Swim Families -  Thank you for coming to the end of the season gathering yesterday.  There's nothing like a pool full of friends having fun.  The State team (photo attached) will be heading over to Oahu this week with Coach Barbara, Coach Harry and myself, while the Jr. State team will head over next week with Coach Barbara. To view results, the meets should be available on the MeetMobile app.  We sure are proud of all of our swimmers for their effort to better themselves. GO ASC. If...

Congratulations to the swimmers who represented ASC this week! Members of the Bronze, Silver, Gold, Junior, and the Senior group were all wonderful to watch as they competed in their races. I loved it. Call me nostalgic but I can remember when we only had 4 kids competing at this meet. We've come a long way and we owe it to our fabulous swimmers, coaches, and parents who believe in our program. What struck me most this weekend, was the notion that practicing hard produces results.  Also, that CHALLENGING oneself is a healthy risk...

Swimming Families - Academy Swim Club is at a beautiful point in our 25-year history. We began back in the spring of 1993 with five swimmers that I wanted to take to the Wolverine Invitational (Now known as the Eric Namesnik Grand Prix) in Ann Arbor, Michigan that summer. Providing an opportunity to allow these five swimmers (Serena Dwyer, Eric Bollinger, Noah Phillips, Ethan Phillips and Jessica Carew) to be exposed to the higher level swimming and to show their talents to collegiate coaches was what inspired me.  After 25...

ASC Swim Families - This is a good read.  ASCA <ascainfo@swimmingcoach.org> Mon, Feb 26, 2018 at 10:20 AM Reply-To: ascainfo@swimmingcoach.org To: mnoetzel.swim@gmail.com The Real Culture of American Swimming by Don Heidary, February 26, 2018   As there has been a great deal in the media of late on the "culture of American Swimming", I am compelled to offer a vastly different perspective, and I believe with all my heart, a more accurate one. Over the past forty years, I have coached in the summer-leagues, at the high school level, and as...

ASC Fans, What a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP! The swimmers were phenomenal, and Hulton Chicoine led the charge with 46 points and two individual championships (50 Backstroke and 200 IM). What an awesome performance by Hulton!   Congratulations to Karly Noetzel (100 Breaststroke) and Kira Parker (200 Backstroke) for their titles in their final age-group state championship.  What an excellent way to bid farewell, with a win.   Also, our 17 -18 400 Free & 800 Free Relays were gold medal winners; 800 Mens (Aapo Eerola, Alec Herre, Asher Robertson, Matt Ostrem)...

Swimming Fans, Recently in HPA's gym, two of Academy Swim Club’s finest swimmers were recognized by HPA for their invitations and acceptances to college. Kira Parker accepted an invitation and scholarship to the University of Vermont and Karly Noetzel accepted an invitation and scholarship to Denison University. Their many hours put into their academics and swimming has led them to these achievements. Karly and Kira now join Taylor Doherty (University of San Diego) as ASC’s members who will be swimming in college. Click MORE INFO to see photos if they...

Swim Families, What a beautiful day for our final home swim meet of the 2017 Short Course season.  Many thanks for the wonderful families that helped throughout the weekend. From set-up on Friday until the final clean-up of the pool and concession area, it was a good team effort by the parents and swimmers. Thank you for rallying. Without the support of our families, we would not be able to provide opportunities for our swimmers and those from the island to test themselves and advance.     The final regular season...
