Parents - The pull-down tabs in this section are great resources. By following them, the athlete will receive consistent messages from both his/her training environment and at home. The coach, the athlete, the parent and the team community all have important jobs to do, but they vary.

Important for athlete development is clear messages.

I'm a big fan of Carol Dweck's "Mindset" and you will hear all coaches striving to follow this philosophy. There's a resource in this section that has "Mindsets - Developing Swimming Talent Through a Growth Mindset." Please read it to better understand where the coaching staff is heading with things.

As always, please reach out to your child's coach directly if you have any questions about what you should be doing or how to better help your swimmer advance. Improvement is a process and there are no shortcuts. I can say that from personal observations from developing age-group champions to Olympic champions.

All the best,

Coach Mark
