VMAC ABC meet was Hawaii’s first meet of the swimming season with incredible races for returners and newcomers alike. The kids had a blast getting their feet wet and their competitive spirts churning. There were a lot of exceptional races at the ABC meet but a few stuck out the most within the different age divisions that participated. Duke’s OceanFest 1-Mile Swim Duke OceanFest’s mile sprint was held last week Saturday with over 300 swimmers participating. Out of the 300+ swimmers our club had 14 swimmers make the awards stand with top 3 age group finishes. The first out of the water was Knut Robinson who finished with a blistering time of 15:50.4 out touching second place by 6 seconds. 2022 Hawaii Age Group Long Course Championships KSC wrapped up a victorious weekend with the 2022 LCM State Championship title at the Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center last week. KSC wrapped up a full weekend of swimming in Pahoa, Hawaii bringing home our 36th straight state championship title. Congratulations to all the swimmers that participated in the 2014 Long Course State Championships. KSC came away from the meet with their 24th straight State Championship title. A very competitive meet pushed the swimmers to very fast times. Five individual Hawaiian State Records were broken by KSC swimmers. KSC swimmers break 10 new Hawaiian Records on way to fantasitc finish at the 2014 Mission Viejo "Swim Meet of Champions". 16 KSC swimmers competed in this past weekends meet, finishing 7th place overall out of over 75 teams from around the country. Some of the highlighted performances were the Mens 400 Free Relay squad of Ryan Stack, Austin Hirstein, Kanoa Kaleoaloha, and Jacob Urbano who finished 1st with a new Hawaiian Open Record. KSC had some great swims last weekend at the Rainbow Invitational. Highlighting the individual swims was a new Hawaiian State Record by Grace Monahan. Grace swam a 1:13.39 in the 10 and under 100 fly to break the previous record set back in 2013. Grace also won the individual high point award for her age group. Also winning high point awards for the meet were Noa Copp and Austin Hirstein.
