KSC Swimmers rock four West Coast Meets

Kamehameha swimmers were busy over the past couple weeks at four different meets on the west coast.  Anu Nihipali and Jasmine Mau competed at the National Championships in Irvine, CA.  Anu's top finish came in the 50 backstroke going 30.31 for 51st place in the country.  Jasmine's top swim was a 48th place finish in the 100 back at 1:03.76.  Her 100 backstroke broke both the 17-18 and Open Hawaiian State Records.

At the same time, KSC swimmers were racing the Western Age Group Zone Championships in Federal Way, WA.  Alex Canicosa-Miles had his top finishes in the 50 fly (36.11), and 50 breaststroke (44.18).  Both swims gave him 19th place finishes.  Sisters Naomi and Noelani Nakaya went best times in the 50 fly for their top finishes of the meet.  Naomi raced to a 37.02 for 29th place while Noelani finished in 35.26 for 13th place.  Grace Monohan made finals in all 6 of her swims.  She got 2nd place finishes in the 200 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 50 freestyle.  She won both butterfly events with a 31.59 50 fly, and a 1:12.28 100 fly.  Her 50 fly was good enough to break her own Hawaiian record as well as breaking the Western Zone record!

The week prior we had swimmers at two different meets on the West Coast as well.  Summer Harrison raced at the Junior National Championships.  Her best finish came in the 100 fly with a 1:02.09 for 43rd place.  Racing at the Senior Zone Championships for the first time in Clovis, CA were Jefferey Collins and Hanna Heiss.  Jefferey had his biggest time drop in the 1500 free with a 17:43.45 for 43rd place.   Hanna Heiss raced to her top finish in the 1500 as well with a 19:40.28 for 41st place.

Conrats to all the swimmers that competed.
