Pathway: Participation

Age Guideline: Swimmers will be selected based on ability with an age consideration.

Training Venue: HKIS, Tai Tam

Lead Coach: Zento Lee & Dawn Lau

Aim: The aim of Swim Fit is to improve swimming fitness whilst correcting stroke technique and learning stroke-correction drills. Swimmers will be introduced to basic training techniques. The group is for swimmers who do not wish to commit to training and competition and also for swimmers who have developed their swimming late

Squad Criteria:

  • Based on ability, age is a guideline only.
  • Perform 100m of Freestyle, Backstroke and Breaststroke and 50m Butterfly. All of this will be at coaches discretion.
  • Attempt flip turns on Freestyle and Backstroke
  • Basic lane discipline and understanding on how to use a clock and swimming in a group.

Minimum Training Commitment:  All swimmers should attend a minimum of 1 session per week.

Competitions: Whilst regular attendance at competition is not compulsory, we do encourage swimmers to enter some competitions throughout the year to ensure motivation and fun. Time Trials are a great way to do this, in a fun, no pressure environment.

Equipment:  Swimsuit/Jammers, team cap, goggles, water bottle.
