Team GB Olympian James Goddard Visit - Monday 4th March 2019

David Pool

Former Team GB Olypmian James Goddard will be hosting a swim session next week with Advance, Development and Stingrays X Swimmers.

James Goddard is one of the best swimmers the U.K. has ever produced, reaching finals at Olympic, World, Commonwealth and European level. He represented Great Britain at three Olympic Games (Athens 2004, Beijing 2008 and London 2012), finishing 4th in the 200m backstroke final in Athens. He knows exactly what it takes to make it to the top of professional and elite sport!

James trained as a full-time professional for 12 years alongside some of the best swimmers and coaches in the world. He has a vast knowledge of stroke technique and the work ethic and mental approach required at training and in competition to become an elite performer.

James started swimming at the age of five and finished competing professionally at the age of 30. He relates well to swimmers of different ages and varying abilities, having mixed with all types of people during his swimming life. Having recently retired, James is keen to pass on what he knows to others and make swimming rewarding for everyone.
