DASH Board of Directors Position Openings September 2020

 

*Requirements to be a Board member

Requirements you must meet in order to be a DASH Board member are as follows:

  • You are a parent/guardian (21 or older) of a Dubuque Area Swimmin’ Hurricane member

  • Are motivated to make the DASH the best swim team experience possible.

  • Enjoy volunteering with other friendly and fun-loving DASH parents.

  • Complete USA Swimming Leadership and Management 101 online course

 

Commitment:

  • Can commit to serve on the DASH Board of Directors for a minimum of 3 years

Year 1: shadowing your position, learning and participating in the chosen role but as non-voting member of the board

Year 2: Become a voting member of the DASH Board or Directors, continue to participate in the position

Year 3: Train a new board member for your position, resin a voting member of the DASH board

  • Attend monthly DASH Board of Directors meetings (currently held the 2nd Monday of the Month)

 

Advantages of being a Board member

There are many perks of being on the Dubuque Area Swimmin’ Hurricane of Directors, the most important one is the joy you have knowing you are encouraging and cultivating the love of swimming for children in your community.

Other advantages include:

  • No volunteer credit requirements. Volunteers on the Board put in enough hours throughout the year that these are not required for them.

  • Have input on the inner workings of the Dubuque Area Swimmin’ Hurricane team. We are always looking for ways to improve the swim team experience for our swimmers.

 

 


 

 

DASH is seeking the following positions for September 2020:

 

Corporate Sponsorship and Fundraising: 1 Shadow position open

 

Responsible for developing and managing fundraising options and corporate sponsorship in order to help keep membership affordable for families.

  • Shadow position the first year than a voting member of board the follow year(s)

  • Attend and participate as a member of the Corporate Sponsorship and Fundraising Committee

  • Coordinate product sales and delivery of fundraisers with vendors

  • Promote fundraiser through flyers, posters around the pool, emails to families. 

  • Contact possible sponsors and coordinate/set up sponsorship and advertising. 

  • Provide info for marketing and website/social media manager for current and upcoming events

  • Corporate sponsorship and fundraising experience preferred.
