Matt Rowe
    Head Coach

Matt joined Lane 4 Aquatics in August 2018 as the Head Coach. In January 2019, he became the owner and operator while maintaining his duties as the Head Coach. Matt is focused and committed to promoting individual athletes and team success. He is an ASCA Level IV coach with over 28 years of experience and has coached athletes to compete at all levels. His prior positions were as a Head Coach at Hinsdale Swim Club in Hinsdale, IL for ten years and as a Head Coach at Lakeside Aquatic Club in Lewisville, TX for over 17 years. His notable accomplishments include:

  • Olympic Trials Qualifiers in 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012
  • 2 National Junior Team Qualifiers
  • NCSA Team Ireland Qualifier
  • NCSA athlete Performance of the Year
  • Consistent production of State Champions (IL and TX); Top 16 swimmers; Senior National Qualifiers; Junior National Qualifiers; NCSA Qualifiers.

Matt has a Bachelor of Arts from Western Illinois with a Minor in Secondary Education. He is married, has one daughter, and a grandson. When not on deck, Matt enjoys cooking, reading, and playing with his grandson.

      Jasen Hengst
      Assistant Coach

Jasen swam competitively in the Quad Cities area for 11 years prior to coaching. He began in a local swim club then swam for Bettendorf High School for 4 years, serving as the Team Captain his senior year. He competed in the CCIW Conference at Augustana College, where he swam for 4 years, again finishing his career as a Team Captain. He most regularly swam the Breaststroke and IM. In 2014 he began his coaching career as an Assistant Coach at Bettendorf High School.

Jasen graduated from Augustana College with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design. He recently completed a 31,347-mile camping trip across the contiguous U.S. states with his dog, Jude.

Laura Danay
Assistant Coach

Laura Danay was born and raised in Muscatine Iowa. She started swimming for the Muscatine YMCA when she was 6 years old. At age 16 she became a lifeguard and has maintained that certification since then. Laura swam for the Division III Loras College Duhawks where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. Laura’s full-time job is with the Iowa Department of corrections as a Residential Officer.
