Swim Lesson Manager - Part Time posted 032723

The Rams Swim Club, located in Pleasant Hill, Iowa is searching for a qualified lessons manager for the upcoming spring/summer season. This individual should be positive, energetic, likes to work with kids, organized, hardworking, and a strong communicator. The Rams Swim Club Lessons Program is a successful year-round program that helps to give kids ages 4-8 the confidence and in water skills to prepare them to transition to the entry level of swim team. This is a part-time position that would require about 3-4 hours of on-deck work a week, and 1-2 hours of administration work done remotely. Prior Swimming and/or coaching knowledge is preferred. 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

Completion of USA Swimming coaching certifications and trainings upon hire  

Be on deck, visible and accessible, overseeing lesson instruction to keep swimmers safe 

Help in water coaches with instruction and safety  

Keep detailed records of swimmer’s skills and update after each lesson 

Communicate skill progress and lesson updates to parents/families daily in person 

Be ready to get in pool when an in-water coach is unavailable  

Be positive and foster a positive environment for both the swimmers and the coaches  

Communicate lessons updates to Head Coach and to the RSC Board.

Assistant Coach Position - Part Time posted 032723

The Rams Swim Club, located in Pleasant Hill, Iowa, is searching for a qualified assistant coach to add to our team. This individual should be a high energy, positive person, displaying good communication skills, working well with swimmers, parents and other coaching staff. The Rams Swim Club is a successful year-round program. The club is divided into five swim groups based on ability and age, with children ages 6-18. This coaching position will have the opportunity to coach multiple levels of training groups (beginner group through advanced group) at separate practice times. Generally, practice times during summer are offered in the mornings for the advanced group, in the evenings and on Saturdays for all groups. This is a part time position and will be paid an hourly wage. Prior swim coaching or swim team experience preferred.   

Roles and Responsibilities: 

Completion of USA Swimming coaching certifications and trainings upon hire 

Oversees daily workout   

Facilitate individual goal setting process with swimmers   

Complete attendance using team app  

Establish an environment that fosters positive team attitudes, encourages self-discipline, sportsmanship, responsibility, and respect   

Challenge and encourage swimmers mentally and physically   

Assist in supervision of meet warmups to prepare swimmers

In-Water Swim Lesson Instructor/Coach/Junior Coach  posted 032723

The Rams Swim Club, located in Pleasant Hill, Iowa, is searching for qualified coaches to be in the water with our lesson swimmers this upcoming spring/summer. This is an ideal job for a certified lifeguard high school student looking for a part-time job that has a positive impact on the community. In water coaches would be required to be in the pool with our lesson swimmers, keeping them safe, while building their swimming skills and confidence in the water, with the end goal of having the lesson swimmers transition to our club team. This is a part-time position that would require approximately 3 hours of work a week over the course of multiple days. Lessons are scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 6:15-7:15pm starting April 10th and continuing through the summer. 

Role and Responsibilities 

Completion of USA Swimming coaching certifications and trainings upon hire  

Be able to swim 300 yards of freestyle continuously 

Enjoys working with kids  

Attendance above 90% for the season  

Be able to communicate swimmer progress to swim lessons manager  

Be able to work with swim lessons manager to create a day-to-day lesson plans 

Be a strong and positive mentor to the future swimmers of Rams Swim Club
