Tryout Information:

At this time, we are connecting with families who have been on our Waiting List to join our team.

We will only be accepting new swimmers to our Developmental group, which is designed for swimmers new to the sport of swimming. No competitive swimming experience is necessary, however each swimmer must be able to complete a 10-15 minute swimming test.

Coaches look for a variety of skills during gour tryouts, including but not inclusive to:

- ability to kick with a kickboard and to kick while floating

-1, 2, or 3 x 25 yards of freestyle demonstrating the ability to side breathe, blow bubbles for proper air exchange, and a basic level of endurance.

- 1 or 2 x 25 of backstroke

- Some Breaststroke or butterfly skills (kickinng, pulling motions, etc)

and they must have a desire to learn all four competitive strokes.

Once our group numbers have adjusted, swimmers for other groups will be accepted.

Each new member of our team is required to have an evaluation with one/several coaches from our staff to assess where these kids would best fit into our groups. These evaluations are scheduled through SignupGenius ( a link will be updated here every two weeks) and held at the University Campus and Recreation Center. Our staff will meet you 5-10min before your scheduled time on the Signup Genius at the front desk and walk you all to the pool area. Once on the pool deck, we will be in the diving well to assess your child. You will receive our IFLY welcome packet. This is filled with information about our team with topics ranging from group structure, billing questions, USA Swimming information, and more.

For any further questions regarding evaluations, please reach out to our Assistant Head Coach Chris Freeman or our Developmental Lead Coach Allyson Herman.
