Lewiston Fazzari’s Open As most of the 13 and Over swimmers were swimming down in Boise, the first Long course meet for the CAST 12 and Under crew braved the heat in Lewiston. We had 28 Swimmers attend and they did a tremendous job handling the long days. Many swimmers, especially in distance events, were at the pool for 5 hours on Friday and 12 hours on Saturday and finished up Sunday with a 10 hour day. As a group with just under 200 swims on the week, CAST stayed...

36 Crocs journeyed together down to Boise to kick off their Long Course seasons last weekend. It was the return of our team travel trips that have been on hiatus since 2019, and it was great to be back! Our swimmers exceeded expectations in the water given that it was the first Long Course meet of the year, with few to no Long Course practices under our belts, and a 7 hour bus ride to get there. However, most of our kids not only dropped tons of time from last...

Elijah Brown has been waiting for his hard work to pay off and it did this weekend. He walked away with the 1st place title in the 200 IM and 200 Backstroke this weekend and also got his first 2 Senior Sectional Cuts. The Shamrock Shakeup represents the last meet of the short course year for most of our athletes. This year, the Shakeup offered a pentathlon lineup, with athletes able to compete for top honors by racing 5 events in a single day. Our athletes showed up ready to rock, and they had three great days of racing to close out a very successful short course season! Families, we will be getting the Shamrock awards at the meet this weekend and passing them out on deck at practice next week. We had...

Eight Crocs attended the NW Speedo Sectional meet last weekend held in Federal Way, WA. This is the highest level of competition for our team this short course season, and our athletes capped off terrific years with fabulous swims. With 600 of the fastest athletes from around the Northwest in attendance, our kids rose to the challenge and did what they’ve done all season-raced hard! Makena Mamola takes top billing for the weekend. Makena qualified for the prestigious Futures Championships this summer for the first time in 4 different events,...

IES Short course championships is our premiere team championship meet of the year-a great measuring stick that all the clubs in Inland Empire to use to evaluate how well they stack up. This year, CAST climbed as high as we ever have, riding a surge of excellent swims to take second place-tied for our highest place in team history, and closer to first than ever before! CAST was within striking distance of SWAT for the whole meet, and should be well set up to challenge the Waves for first place...

The Inland Empire Junior Championship meet kicks off our short course champs season. It was another very successful edition of one of our favorite meets of the year, featuring up-and-coming swimmers who get the chance to shine! CAST took third place in the team competition and earned plenty of individual medals from a slew of great swims! Two Crocs ran away with individual high point honors. Michaela Richards continued her winning ways, breaking CAST team records in the 25 back and 50 back on her way to first place in...

Going into the weekend, we were full of hope and a desire to focus on race strategies and techniques that would prepare our swimmers for the upcoming championship meets. It was a different type of meet format, with 3 sessions and only 2-3 events for each swimmer per session. This made for a fast and furious 24 hours of racing. With hard practices leading up to the meet, the coaches were focused more on racing techniques, not necessarily time drops. However, our CAST swimmers showed their true grit and we...

Great job to the 48 swimmers who traveled to Lewiston for the Winter Invite last weekend! This meet featured several unique events not usually available to all age groups, and our swimmers took advantage of the opportunity. With single age group scoring, our kids also fared very well on the leaderboards. Combined with a ton of best times, it was a very successful weekend! First shoutouts have to go to our new team record holders. Michaela Richards took down the long sought-after 8 and under girls 25 free team record,...

CAST had a phenomenally successful Washington Open last weekend in Federal Way. WA Open features nearly 800 athletes who aren’t separated into age groups, meaning the competition is very tightly bunched together leading to a lot of great racing opportunities! Our athletes absolutely floored the coaches with how well they swam. For quite a few of our swimmers, this was their first taste of an open style competition with this amount of high level swimmers, against the backdrop of an awe-inspiring facility-and they absolutely stepped up! Every one of our...
