SWAT, Early Spring Break, All Training Groups suspended for two weeks, Group Emails, Dryland, Video Training for Swimmers

Sean Muncie

Hello SWAT,

It was our goal to try and provide some sense of comfort, safety, and normalcy for the swimmers with a partial training schedule. However, considering the growing pandemic and the possibility of transmitting the COVID-19 virus to more “at risk” community members and family, we have decided to suspend all SWAT Training Groups through March 31. Whitworth is still open but we feel shutting down temporarily for two weeks is the most responsible course of action.

Early Two Week Break

We were about to begin our two-week Spring Break. We might as well begin it early. We will review in two weeks determine if we can begin training groups April 1.

  • Coaches will be sending out emails to their respective groups for any video training available to the swimmers online along with dryland workouts for the swimmers to complete each day.
  • We ask the swimmers set aside their regular practice time each day to complete the video training and dryland workouts coaches provides for them.
  • Video Phone/Facetime Dryland To make it interesting they can also video call each other while they complete their dryland exercises.
  • If anyone falls ill and needs assistance, whether it be supplies or emotional support please do not hesitate to reach out to teammates for help.
  • Please check your in box for emails from the coaches and a training routine for the swimmers.

We hope for a quick recovery and hope everyone is safe at home. Please contact us if you have any questions,
