Coaches Note 7-28-09
Hello Waves Families, Coaches Note 7-28-09
This will be one of the last (if not the last) Coaches Notes for the summer. However, there will be a lot of information coming at you over the next month or so. Please check the new website often (www.spokanewaves.org) and pay attention to any email you receive from the team. If you have not logged on to the site, please make sure you do so—we will use the website to register for events next year (including swim meets!), so it is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL that you familiarize yourself with it. There will be tutorials during registration week (8/31-9/3).

-Senior Sectional Championships
While most of the team was at Champs, Faith Barr, Amanda Merrick, and Rachel Millet braved 6 hours in a car with Coach Kevin down to Gresham Oregon . They swam well over the course of the 5 day meet, experiencing some great swims and extreme bi-polar weather. Rachel Millet set 4 Team Records, while Faith Barr set 1. After a long week, we hoped back in the car Saturday night and drove up to Wenatchee to join the rest of the team of the Long Course Championships. We arrived just before midnight, and showed up ready to swim Sunday morning!
-Last Practice is August 1st from 8:00 – 9:00 AM. Open to all swimmers!
-First Practice of the 2009-2010 Season & Moving Up
We’ll be taking a break during the month of August until we see you all again August 31st. Practice times will be announced shortly. Please remember to log on to the website and click the “attend this event” button. It will really help streamline the registration process and will help keep our team better organized next year.
With the start of the new season, there are going to be some people moving groups. Please be on the lookout for what group your kids are going to be placed in.
-Football Net
I have been asked by the Whitworth Athletic Director to have the kids not play on the giant field goal not behind the pool. It’s expensive to fix and they would rather not have kids playing on it. Thanks guys.
