Coaches Note 9-22-09

Hello Waves Families,

We are rolling right along! I know that the coaching staff is having a blast so far this season, and we hope that all of you are having as much fun as we are. Please let us know if you have any questions or anything to discuss with the coaching staff. Here are the upcoming events:

-Kroc  Meet

Are you ready for the first meet of the season?!?  Check your entries and show up October 2 -4 at the brand new Kroc Center in Coeur d’Alene for a fun weekend of competition! Log into the website to double check meet information as well. Hopefully, we’ll have a timeline to post soon!

-Trick or Treat

The Trick or Treat meet entry deadline is coming up!  Check out the Trick or Treat Event page on the website! This meet is recommended for those interested in competition outside the local Spokane area. This is a great meet for all ages and all abilities, so check it out! If you are interested in a hotel room, please click here for information about our hotel block.

-Maters Sink-or-Swim Meet (October 10th)

Our Second Annual Masters Sink or Swim meet will be held October 10th. If you’re interested, please let me know so I can get you signed up. Click here for more information.

-Web-Site

How to use the CALENDAR tab. There are several types of Calendars that exist under this tab. The General calendar is the first one you see when you click on the Calendar tab. This will have announcements for the entire team, such as Board of Directors meetings, officials classes, and other major team activities and events. There are also specific calendars for each training group that can be accessed by clicking on the scroll down menu to the right of the text that says “Pick a Calendar.”  Select a practice group, and it will show you practice times and any special messages for that training group.

-Training Tip

Bring a water bottle to practice every day! Staying hydrated will prevent cramping and will help with overall performance in practice. Water works the best, but sports drinks or fruit juice would also be beneficial. Avoid carbonated beverages, especially soda pop—these drinks can actually decrease your ability to perform well in practice and competition.

That’s about all for the week. Again, please call or email if you have any questions or comments about anything. We always looking for ways to improve the team and we would love your involvement.

Thanks,

Kevin
