Announcing Matt Elliott, BNSC's New Head Coach with Roots in Central Illinois

The BNSC Board of Directors is excited to announce the hiring of Matt Elliott, BNSC’s new Head Coach!

A Central Illinois native, Matt has many years of swimming and coaching experience and is very familiar with the local and state swim community.  He graduated from Peoria Richwoods High School, where he was a:

  • 7-time Illinois High School State Champion
  • 5-Time Junior National Champion
  • 8-Time High School All-American
  • National Age Group Record Holder
  • 2011 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Swimmer of the Year
  • 2-time Illinois Swimming Swimmer of the Year

His swimming accolades continued during college at the University of Florida where he is the record holder for the 100 and 200 breaststroke.  As a proud “Gator”, he was a:

  • 10-Time All-American
  • 2012 SEC All-Freshman Honoree
  • 2013 SEC Champion in the 200 breaststroke
  • Achieved 2-Time All-SEC honors

Matt mostly recently served as the Lead Age Group Coach and Senior Assistant Coach with the Brownsburg Swim Club, Indiana.

His effective date is November 1st.  He and his wive, Kristin (a former college swimmer) just got married in early October.  Please join us in welcoming them to BNSC and the Bloomington/Normal community!
