FMC AQUATIC SWIM TEAM FAQ

How do I join FMC Aquatic? FMC is a year-round competitive program for youth athletes. We generally operate at full capacity but review new athletes prior to the start of each new season.

When do you evaluate new athletes? USA Swimming competitive swim teams operate in two seasons, Short Course, which runs from September-March; and the Long Course season, which runs from April-August. FMC Aquatic generally hosts tryouts in early April, and late July.

How do I know when tryouts will be? If you are interested in joining the team, please fill out our interested swimmer form on www.fmcaquatic.com under the “Register Here” tab. Scroll to the bottom and click on “tryout information.” We will add your contact information to an email list and you will be notified when official tryout days are scheduled.

Can anyone join the team? FMC evaluates every athlete that joins the team to ensure success and enjoyment for all of our athletes. If an athlete is still developing the needed skills to be successful on our competitive team, we will direct you to our lesson program to continue skill development.

Who will my child swim with? FMC Aquatic breaks down our athletes by age groups so swimmers will be with their piers until high school age. At this point swimmers are placed in groups based on different swimming levels achieved.

Where will my child train? FMC tries to give all members of the team the opportunity to train at both of our beautiful locations, FMC Natatorium in Westmont, IL and Superior Training in Willowbrook, IL. Practice schedules vary by season but can be found on our website, www.fmcaquatic.com

Where do you train? FMC Aquatic is the host team for the FMC Natatorium at Ty Warner Park in Westmont, Illinois. FMC Natatorium houses one 50 Meter Pool that can be set up in multiple 25 yard pools, and an 8 lane, 25 yard training pool. FMC Aquatic also trains out of our sister site, Superior Training in Willowbrook, Illinois. Superior Training houses a 12 lane, 25 yard pool.

Do you offer lessons? Yes. We offer lessons at both FMC Natatorium, and our sister location, Superior Training. Group and private lessons are offered to swimmers of all ability levels.
