Swim Club

The RASC Swim Team offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the RASC Swim Team  to offer ability specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.Click Here to send us an email request for more information.

JUNIOR OTTERS
This program is designed as a transitional introduction into the world of competitive swimming. This group will concentrate on the fundamentals of competitive swimming (rules and regulations), technique and stroke development with an introduction to endurance training in a fun and safe environment. It requires a commitment of two practices a week of 60 minutes each. Approval of the Head Coach to compete in away meets.

 

BRONZE
This groups focus is on stroke development with an increase in commitment and endurance training. Emphasis is placed heavily on good technique while mastering the essentials of competitive swimming. Practices are 60 minutes long with an encouraged commitment of three days a week. Competition in Dual meets is expected and ISI meets are highly encouraged if Coach approves.

 

SILVER
Continued focus with more advanced technique and stroke development as well as endurance training. Understanding how to use the pace clock, proper lane etiquette, perfecting start & turn technique and how to create a race strategy are factors taught at this level. High attendance levels are expected to ensure advancement to the next level. Training sessions are 90 minutes long with an encouraged commitment of three to four days a week. Competition in Dual meets is expected and ISI meets are highly encouraged.

 

GOLD

Continued focus on perfection of stroke technique along with endurance & speed. Focus is on mastering drills; using the pace clock for all set types and variance; achieving the highest level of age group competition; speed work without loss of technical skills; and strong aerobic capacity Goal setting and attaining high levels of competition are strongly encouraged at this level. Swimmers in this group evolve from learning to swim to learning to train. An increase in team commitment and a commitment to all aspects of swimming are expected at this level. These swimmers and their families are required to make a year round commitment of time and energy to swimming. Training sessions are two hours long with a commitment of four days a week.  Competition in Dual meets and ISI Meets are expected.
