Indiana Swim Club had strong representation at the IHSAA Boys State Championships held February 25-26 at the IUPUI Natatorium. David Kovacs and Lukas Paegle, Bloomington South HS, both recorded Top 8 finals as freshmen. Kovacs was 6th in the 100 Back (50.89) while Paegle was 8th in the 100 Fly (49.96). Kovacs also raced to a 10th place finish in the 200 IM (1:52.86), while Paegle also swam the 50 Free prelims, 21.60 (22nd place). They combined with Judah Thompson and Leo Nelson to garner a consolation score (11th place)...

Indiana Swim Club had a strong showing last weekend at Girls High School State Championships. Kristina Paegle won two individual championships in the 100 (48.29) and 200 (1:45.19) Free events. Her preliminary swims (48.00) and (1:45.02) both shattered state records. Those two along with her lead-off split of 22.38 in the 200 Free Relay were all Bloomington South HS records. ISC has had six athletes selected to represent Team Indiana at the Mid-States All-Star Team Championships this coming weekend, January 8-9 at the IUPUI Natatorium. Congrats to everyone selected and their respective coaches. This an All-Star meet pitting squads from Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin. The meet is two-session, one Saturday and one Sunday. Saturday begins at 11:45am and Sunday begins at 8:40am. It is a timed final event. Indiana Swim Club is pleased to announce that they received a grant of $5000 through Indiana Swimming's Covid-19 Club Grant Support Program. This grant program was setup for clubs that suffered financial loss from Covid-19 in the past year. ISC received the maximum amount allowable. Many thanks to our board members for doing the application process and necessary documentation.

Kristina Paegle, in her first appearance representing Team USA in the Berlin World Cup meet, swam legs on two relays that set World Junior records. She also recorded two 9th place finishes as well as an 11th place in her individual races. Her converted times are all lifetime best swims: 22.10/48.28/1:45.81. The team concludes their trip this weekend at the Budapest World Cup stop. These are awesome accomplishements for Kristina and great representation of ISC on the national and world swimming stage. Exciting news - the 2021 Indiana Swim Club Swim-a-thon will be held on November 6, 2021! This year, we've hoping to raise $20,000. This is ISC's major fundraiser for the year, and we're looking for everyone to participate by helping to raise funds--and of course looking forward to having fun swimming laps on November 6th. Raising these funds is especially important because they are used for scholarships and pool access fees. These funds also help to keep costs lower for our swimmers.
