Sara Wilhelm

Coach Sara was drawn to become a USA Swimming coach when she saw a need and recognized that she had the time and energy to give to the sport. Having coached youth volleyball and softball in the past, she knew this would be just as rewarding and fulfilling. Sara competed for several years as an age group swimmer growing up in Washington, Indiana. She was a multi-sport athlete, limited only by how many sports seasons there were in a year. Sara knows the importance of keeping practices fun while building confidence and skill in young swimmers. She is fascinated by the effects of swimming on a developing brain and is so thankful for the opportunity her own children have had to swim competitively, seeing it pay off in the classroom as well as in the pool.  Sara graduated from the University of Indianapolis with a BS in computer science. Her supportive husband Greg is a physical therapist at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville. Their four children attend Tri-West schools and play various sports. Sara enjoys playing catch with her husband and kids, getting coffee and visiting bookstores with her daughter, crafting on her Cricut, photography, and watching AFV with her two youngest children on Sunday nights. :) She looks forward to being a FUNdamentals coach for Center Grove!
