We are proud to have coaches that bring experience, skill and enthusiasm to our club. Our coaches want the best for each swimmer and use their coaching and mentoring skills to bring the best out of each swimmer and to make a positive influence on them.

Our coaches strive to encourage healthy competition as well as good sportsmanship.

Amy Spencer

Coach Amy began her swimming career at the age of 5 right here at CGAC. After competing for the CGHS girls swim team (97-2001),she went on to compete for Michigan State University (2001-2003). Amy graduated from IUPUI with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and from University of Indianapolis with a Masters of Occupational Therapy. She is currently a school-based occupational therapist when she is not at the pool.

Amy began her coaching career in 2003, after an injury led to surgery and “retirement” from competition. While pursuing her undergraduate and Master’s degrees, she served as an assistant coach for CGAC and for CGHS. She has spent time coaching at every team, and  became head age-group coach in 2012 and continues to assist with the Senior and high school teams. Amy and her husband, JT, live in Greenwood with their daughter and two dogs.

Kevin Trammell

Coach Trammell began his swimming journey at Indian Creek Senior High where he was the Team Captain. His collegiate career was balanced with commitments to ROTC at Indiana University while also being a SCUBA instructor and swim instructor. He then went on to serve in the Armed Services for 23 years before retiring. He was the Head Coach for the Mooresville High School Pioneers and led both the boys and girls team in the most successful year in the school's history for the 2018 to 2021 seasons. Coach T is happy to be back full time with the CGAC family now and is excited to watch the club grow in our new facility.

Coach Jason Hite began as head coach at various high schools in the Springfield, Missouri area before serving as Assistant Coach at Drury University where he spent the three years.  In June 2015, Coach Hite was named Head Coach for the University of Indianapolis Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Team. Coach Hite has led the University of Indianapolis’ men's & women's teams to top 5 rankings over the past 3 seasons.   Coach Hite is the head coach at our UIndy site and of our UIndy age group and senior teams.

Coach Hite has been married for 18 years to Heidi. They have 3 boys: Ethan (17), Harrison (16) and Max (13).   The Hite family enjoys traveling, laughing and making memories along the way.

Lauren Beckner

Coach Lauren began her swimming career at CGAC when she was 7 years old. After competing for the high school team Freshman through Junior year, she suffered from a season ending injury, making her unable to compete her senior year. Lauren is currently a Junior at the University of Indianapolis, majoring in Public Health and minoring in Psychology. She plans to continue her education and get her Masters in Public Health. Lauren taught swim lessons for 4 years here at CGAC. Her first coaching position started in 2014 with Sharks n’ Minnows. Then in 2018 she became an assistant coach for the White Team. She now assists in coaching both the White and Red Teams. In her free time she enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
