CENTER GROVE AQUATIC CLUB: SWIM PROGRAMS FOR ALL AGES AND ABILITIES

 Evaluation Information

Don't know where to start with your swimmer? Bring them to an open evaluation night! CGAC has created a comprehensive swim program that serves swimmers of all levels from beginning age group swimmer to elite senior swimmer.

Click here for more detailed information about the different training groups and programs.

CGAC Swim Lesson Program: The CGAC Swim Lesson Program offers private swim lessons for individuals of all ages out of diapers and up.  USA Swimming Certified Instructors provide beginning instruction for the non-swimmer, as well as limited stroke training for the novice swimmers.

CGAC Sharks and Minnows: The CGAC Sharks and Minnows Program is a pre-competitive swim team that introduces swimmers to skills and stroke mechanics for competitive swimming development. Sharks and Minnows runs from November through December and May through the June at Center Grove High School Pool (Additional winter sessions may be added as needed).

CGAC Age Group and Senior Teams: The CGAC Age Group and Senior Program is a competitive swim team that operates year round at Center Grove High School Natatorium. The team is divided into two large age group brackets, 5 year olds to eighth grade (age group), followed by high school and college age (senior team).  Placement into groups is achieved through coach evaluation during a try-out and subsequent trial period.  Each group is designed to benefit swimmers who are grouped together by ability. The frequency, duration, and training intensity of practices define each group. Within each of these groups there are groups designed to match desire and ability level.

The Center Grove Aquatic Club (CGAC) welcomes swimmers of all levels (ages 18 and under) to join CGAC.

Evaluation Process: Parents will hand off the new swimmer to a CGAC board member. Parents will remain outside of the buiding or in their car during the evaluation. After a coach evaluates the new swimmer, they will come out and talk with the parent. Both the parent and the swimmer must wear a mask and the swimmer should be dressed and ready to get in the water. (Locker rooms will not be available to change in.)
