New Info

From Coach Amy:

Hello CGAC Families!  Here are the things you need to know for the week of 10/22/19:

Swim Meet 101 Meeting: Is tomorrow Wednesday October 23 from 5:30 - 6:30. The meeting will be in room 552. Board Members will be available at the pool to escort families to the location. We will go over club credit requirements and how to sign up to volunteer.

RSVP'ING Your Swimmer(s) for a Swim Meet: You MUST  RSVP through the website. Sending an email after the entries have closed and gone out is not a RSVP. Please pay close attention to registration deadlines. Some  are based upon the host club’s entry deadlines. Some meets also are open to certain teams.

Swimmer Pick-up & Drop-Off: With several different practice times overlapping, we understand that there will be some swimmers who will be dropped-off earlier or picked-up later than their scheduled time due to a sibling’s practice schedule. However, no swimmer should be dropped-off more than 15 minutes prior to the start of their practice without parent supervision. If your swimmer is dropped-off more than 15 minutes prior to the start of practice, they must stay in the red bleachers until their group is called. Likewise, if you are picking your swimmer up more than 15 minutes after the conclusion of their practice, they also must stay in the red bleachers.  With winter sports and other activities starting up, it is not safe for children to wander around the school unattended, nor can the coaching staff run practice groups and monitor swimmers who are not practicing.  For the safety of our swimmers, if a swimmer is unable to stay in the designated area while waiting for their practices to start or for a sibling’s practice to end, then they will require parent supervision. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation on this safety matter!

Winter Weather: The cooler weather has finally made its way to Indy! Please be sure that your swimmer is dressed appropriately when they leave practice to help keep them healthy.  Also, as a reminder **If CG has a school cancellation, there will be no practice at the CG site. If there is a 2-hour delay, evening practices will continue as scheduled.**

CGAC Jingle Bell Meet: Registration Deadline is November 10th at 8 AM. This is our first home meet of the short course season. Swimmers on  ALL TEAMS are encouraged to participate. This meet is a fun meet and a great opportunity for those swimmers that are newer to competitive swimming and swim meets. If you have any questions about whether your swimmer is ready to compete, please ask your swimmer's coach. When registering please ensure in the comments section you designate which days your swimmer will compete. The Jingle Bell meet will be held  November 22 - 24.High School Senior Team Club Swimmers: Please check with Coach Todd, Coach Hite or Coach Trammell to see if you are eligible to swim in this home meet per IHSAA Swimming & Diving rules.

See you at the pool!

Coach Amy

From Our Officials Chair: The Center Grove Aquatic Club is in need of officials. Our first short course meet is soon and we are in the planning stages. Training is provided and you will get to experience a swim meet from a totally different view. Our sport needs officials to ensure fairness and to make sure meets run efficiently. It's a great way to learn more about the sport and is an exciting and rewarding way to participate with your athlete. If you are interested in becoming an official or have questions about the process please email or call Brian Lewis  (317-753-7957).
