New Info

From Coach Amy:

Happy Tuesday CGAC families! Here are the things that you need to know for this week:

1.ACST Meet (Black and Pre-Senior Teams): Great job to those swimmers who competed in the ACST AquaSprints over the weekend. Our CGAC swimmers had some awesome races and time drops! Congratulations to Camron Mazdai, Vincent Howe and Lara Phipps who won high point for their respective age groups.

2.) PIKE Developmental Meet (White and Red Teams): Is Wednesday, Feb. 19, please wear your red CGAC shirt to support our CGAC swimmers! Warm-ups begin at 5pm at Pike High School.

3.) Championship Meets: My apologies for not getting this information out sooner. I will begin sending out emails to families of swimmers who have qualified thus far for Divisionals, Age Group State, Senior State and Speedo Sectionals this week. The registration process for these meets is different than Non-Championship meets. I will send out an email letting you and your swimmer know that they have qualified for the meet. As part of that email, I will have a date listed by which I will need to know if your swimmer will NOT be attending the meet. If I do not get a "Not participating" response, it will be assumed that your swimmer will participate in the meet(s), and you will be responsible for their meet fees.

4.) High School Sectionals : Good Luck to the CGHS Men's Swimmers and Divers this Thursday (5:30 Swim Prelims) and Saturday (9:00 Dive/1:00 Swim Finals) at Franklin as they begin the road to State at the IHSAA Sectional tournament on Thursday and Saturday!

5.) End of season: As we head into end of season and championship season, practices will begin winding down. The last meet for White team swimmers will be the Pike 14&Under developmental meet on Feb. 19th, and their last practice will be on February 20th. The last meet for Red Team, Black Team and Pre-Senior swimmers who have not met championship time standards will be the ICAC Beach Party Finale on March 1, with their last day of practice will be on February 29th. Championship qualifiers will continue to practice through the highest meet that they have qualified for! Parents will receive an initial email letting them know if their child has qualified for a Championship meet so far this season after the Super Bowl Splash (Divisionals, Age Group State, Senior State).

6.) Practice Reminders: There will be no practice on the following dates due to home Middle School Meets:

February 19th

February 25th

Red Team: Will have a makeup practice on February 26th from 5:00-6:30pm. There will be one practice for that night

7.) Swim Lessons: Dates and registration information for our Spring Swim Lessons is now posted on the team website. Registration will open at 8am on March 2.

8.) Summer (Long Course Season): The meet schedule is in the process of being finalized. Due to Olympic Trials, several meet dates have been shifted. Therefore, we will not be taking a team travel meet this summer with the plan to return to a travel meet in 2021. Instead, we will be planning team outings around the Indy area this summer!

9.) Billing: All current short course club swimmers are assumed to be participating in the Long Course season (April-August). Please email Erin Graybeal at billing@cgacswim.org if your swimmer is NOT planning to swim long course.

Please see your swimmer's coach if you have any questions.

Thank you and see you at the pool!

Coach Amy

2020 TYR Pro Swim Series Club Credit Opportunity - CGAC is VERY excited to be a part of the TYR Pro Swim Series circuit for 2020 and will be hosting this prestigious event with our club co-hosts, Indiana Swimming & Westfield Aquatics May 5-9 at the IU Natatorium.

Thank you to everyone who has already signed up to volunteer. We would like to remind everyone when signing up that there is a requirement to work two sessions per person. Two sessions will equal two club credits.  Please add the person's name in the comment section who will be volunteering and the size of the t-shirt needed.  If you have friends or family that are looking for community service opportunities, please have them contact Heather Trammell at president@cgacswim.org.

Rock the Block Run: ONLY 10 DAYS REMAIN TO QUALIFY. We NEED about a dozen more people to sign up to participate for the run/walk so our club can compete for fundraising $$$. We are good in volunteers. The more people we have signed up to participate, the more likely our club will win BIG money!!!  The non-profit groups with the most participants win grant money. You can  sign up to walk/run/sleep-in the 5K/10K/Kids Run at  www.RockTheBlockRun.org for Early Registration pricing. The run will be held on April 25th at 8:30am at the CGHS.
