New Info

From Coach Amy:

Happy Tuesday CGAC families! Here are the things that you need to know for this week:

It was a BIG weekend for CGAC swimmers this past weekend! The CGHS boys swimmers and diver tied for 9th place at the 2020 IHSAA State Meet. Finalist included Ben Clarkston, Justin Xia, Tony Gipson, Ethan Martin, Ben Mitchell, John Hasquin, Logan Dales, Garrett Crist and Kaleb Crady. Great job boys! Also, swimmers participated in the ICAC Beach Party Finale, where swimmers achieved  best times, new Divisional  and State time standards. Awesome job CGAC!

Here are the things that you need to know for the week of 3/2/2020:

1.) 2020 Divisional Championships: The FINAL entry for the 2020 Divisional Championship has been sent out. I will not be able to make any changes  to individual entries. Relays are subject to change based on performance. Initial relays are based on times that put up the fastest relays while still having an entry time that is slower than the state time standard. Please note that Middle School times are NOT taken into consideration for club swimming.

Good luck to all our Divisional swimmers this weekend!  Shirt colors will be Friday – black, Saturday – red, and Sunday – white or gray. Reminder, this is a prelim/final championship format meet. Your swimmer is expected to swim in the final session unless previously discussed with their coach. If a swimmer misses a prelim event, they are done for the remainder of that session. They can still swim finals for any events they qualified for prior to that missed event. If a swimmer is a no-show for finals, even if they are an alternate, they are out for the remainder of the meet.

2.) Championship Meets: The Senior State and Age Group State qualifier lists have been sent out. Please let me know if you did not receive an email and your swimmer has qualified for either of these meets.  As part of those emails, I have a date listed by which I will need to know if your swimmer will NOT be attending the meet. If I do not get a "Not participating" response, it will be assumed that your swimmer will participate in the meet(s), and you will be responsible for their meet fees. This includes relay only swimmers too.

3.) Practice Changes (CG Site): At this time, the only swimmers who should still be practicing are those who have qualified for the Divisional Meet or higher.

Update! Middle school swimmers who are on the Black or PreSenior Teams may also continue to practice with club.

● All Red Team members who will be swimming at Divisionals will be practicing 5-6:30pm.

4.) Swim Lessons: Dates and registration information for our Spring Swim Lessons is now posted on the team website. Registration is now OPEN.

5). Summer (Long Course Season): The tentative 2020 long course meet schedule is in the process of being finalized. Due to Olympic Trials, several meet dates have been shifted. Therefore, we will not be taking a team travel meet this summer, with the plan to return to a travel meet in 2021. Instead, we will be planning team outings around the Indy area!

●Practices for returning swimmers will begin on April 13th. Practice times will remain the same for the remainder of the school year as they were for short course season.

6.) Long Course Evaluations: - New swimmer evaluations and registration will be April 8&9. Returning swimmers do NOT need to re-register. ALL current club swimmers are assumed to be participating in the Long Course season (April-August) unless you email Erin Graybeal at

Long Course Season or 'LCM' - If you are new to Long Course season and want to better understand what the difference is between short course and long course, click here on our website (listed on the FAQ page under 'Swim Meets") for a good explanation of Short pool/long season and long pool/short season.

Please see your swimmer's coach if you have any questions.

Thank you and see you at the pool!
