Is my swimmer ready to join the team?

Prospective Swimmers must be comfortable in deep water and be able to swim 25 yards of the pool.  Swimmers should be at least 6 years old.

My swimmer is ready, where do I go for the Evaluations?

When arriving at Concord High School, enter Door 21 on the South side of the building.

What do I need to bring?

New swimmers should bring their swimsuit, towel, goggles and a copy of their birth certificate.

How long is the swimming season?

Our Fall/Winter Season is from September to March.

How much does it cost?

Cost breakdown is based on ability level and age of the swimmer.  Payments are made by month in a season cycle.  For the Fall/Winter season, the installments are over a period of 5 months.  For brand new 10 & under aged athlete, the cost is typically around $80 per month.  For a brand new 11-14 year old, the cost typically is around $115 per month.  These costs are based on the number of practices the groups have per week as well as the length of each practice.

Each swimmer must be registered with USA Swimming to compete in meets and be covered by Insurance.  This is a onetime payment per year.  The cost is $85.  If your swimmer is on free/reduced lunch, the fee will be $5 per year (paperwork required).

We have a fundraising fee to encourage families to participate in our Fundraising programs throughout the year.  Credits earned through this can go back towards your account (see info on Parent Page).  The upfront cost is $100.

Each new swimmer to our program does receive a onetime New Swimmer Discount of $100.

How do I make payments?

Once your swimmer commits to the team, you will make an online account through our website.  Here you can see your billing in real time as well as make online payments by credit card or ACH.  Payments can also be in cash or check and dropped off at the pool.

How will I know what group my swimmer is in?

Typically, most new swimmers, unless they have prior swim team experience, will be in the beginning level groups.  For 10 & under aged athletes, that group is Poseidon Green and for 11-14 aged athletes, that is Neptune Green.

How many practices does my swimmer need to do each week?

The amount of recommended practices your athlete attends per week depends on the group that they are in.  For beginning Green groups from both Poseidon and Neptune, we will offer 4 practices per week but recommend swimmers attend a minimum of 2 practices per week.  Swimmers are welcome to do more but it is not required.  The recommended number of practices and the length of each practice goes up as the group level increases.

Does my swimmer need to compete in swim competitions?

Yes, we are a competitive program and we do want athletes to complete in meets when they are ready.  Our coaching staff will choose appropriate events for swimmers based on their age and skill level.  There are costs associated with swim meets.  Swimmers pay for each event they swim as well as a flat rate of $2 per athlete.
