Frog Swim Lessons  

This program focuses on introducing children to the water and teaching the basics of swimming. This includes developing and progressing water confidence, learning basic water safety skills, developing confident breathing and submersion, encouraging independent water movement, listening to instruction and having less reliance on adult support.

  • Minimum age for swim lessons is 2 years old
  • Swimmers will be paired 1-on-1 with an instructor
  • Each session includes five 30 minute lessons that run Monday-Friday in the selected timeslot
  • Location is the Columbus North High School (CNHS) pool
  • Parents are permitted to watch Frog Swim Lessons from the CNHS natatorium stands. Mask requirements follow BCSC requirements for CNHS.

    • Sessions are available 1 PM - 3 PM, Saturdays
    • Program consists of 4 weeks per session
      • October 1,8,15,22
        • Registration will open September 17th

      • January 14,21,28, February 4th

Frequently Asked Question

Q:  Does my child need to know how to swim?   

A:  No prior swimming experience is needed.

Q:  How do I sign up?

A:  Registration will be available starting May 1st via the Donner Swim Club website.  Click the 'Frog Swim Lessons' button on the home page to sign up.

Q:  What should we bring?

A:  Each swimmer needs a swimsuit, towel, and goggles.  Swim caps are optional.  Floatation devices are not needed. 

Q:  Where do I go?

A:  Enter CNHS through Door 40, near the Athletic Office and across from the Football field and Track.  Swimmers will wait on the pool deck for their instructors and parents may observe from the stands.
