Drew Hansz - Head Coach

Drew graduated from the University of Michigan in 1995.  His competitive swim career began at age 8 and was completed at U of M.  Drew's accomplishments include YMCA, USS and High School State Championships.  In 1991, he was the YMCA National Champion in the 100 yard breaststroke.  Drew also qualified for both Junior and Senior National level meets.  Drew achieved All-State and All-American honors in High School Swimming and Water Polo.  At the University of Michigan, he was named all Big Ten for three years in Water Polo.  Drew has over 20 years coaching experience in USS/USA, High School and Summer/Country Club swimming and has coached swimmers to League, State and Zone championships.  Most importantly, Drew has a truly unique ability to connect with and motivate his swimmers.

 

 Molly Tyler - Assistant Coach, Registration & Communication Coordiator 

Molly Tyler has been with dROP Aquatics since it was formed in 2014. She is a graduate of Grand Valley State University, where she earned a bachelor degree in Clinical Exercise Science. Coach Molly started swimming at a young age in the North Suburban Swim League for the Beechview Breakers. In high school, she was a state qualifier, senior captain, and part of a record-setting 200 medley relay at Farmington High School. Molly started her coaching career at the Farmington Glen Aquatic Club in 2010. Since then, in addition to dROP, she has been an assistant coach at both Salem High School and Farmington High School for the girls and boys swim teams. Molly’s enthusiasm for swimming, coaching and working with kids is obvious to anyone who sees her on deck.  

 

Coach Katie Goncalves - Assistant Coach  

Katie Goncalves (KG) is a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in English and a secondary education teaching certificate. She began swimming in the NSSL and for the Sports Club Black Dogs at age 6 and completed her career as a captain of the North Farmington High School swim team, where her primary events were the 200 IM and 100 butterfly. KG has been a swim coach since 2006, working with swimmers on the Woodbrooke Hills, Dublin Arctic Dolphins in Ohio, Farmington Glen, and dROP Aquatics swim teams. KG's passion for swimming is infectious whether at practices or swim meets.

 

 Gloria Martinez Perez - Assistant Coach

Gloria is a native of Spain and recent graduate of Wayne State University.  She holds Bachelor's Degrees in Physical Activity and Sport Science (Universidad de Extremadura, Spain) and Kinesiology (WSU).   Gloria began swimming at the age of 6 and attended her first Spanish National Championship when she was 12.  She won 4 individual national titles in the 50 free and 50 fly before moving to the United States.  While competing for Wayne State, Gloria was a 16 time All-American swimmer and a part of a national record-breaking 200 free relay.

 

Coach Katie Tyler - Assistant Coach

KT is a recent graduate of Oakland University with a degree in Integrative Studies.  She began swimming in the NSSL for the Beechview Breakers at the age of 10; she grew to love swimming more and more every year.  Katie attended Farmington High School and swam on the Girls Varsity Swim Team, where she enjoyed the 500 free and the 100 back. Katie has coached at Farmington High School and continues to coach at the Farmington Glen Aquatic Club and with dROP Aquatics.
