Indy Synchro is currently the only synchronized swim team representing Indiana, and is frequently ranked among the top teams in the United States. Many of our Indy swimmers continue swimming competitively in collegiate programs, such as Ohio State University. Several of our alumni athletes have been named to the U.S. National Team at the Senior, Junior, or 13-15 Age Group level.
History
Indy Synchro was Indiana’s first competitive synchronized swimming club and was formed in 1984 as the Circle City Synchronettes. To encourage national recognition, the team changed its name to the Indianapolis Synchronettes. In 1992, the team adopted the shortened name, Indy Synchro. Since 1984, the team has developed from a new, beginner-level program to a nationally ranked age group program.
Shooting Stars Synchro began in 2001 as a summer recreational program sponsored by the Stony Creek Swim Center in Noblesville. They became the second competitive synchronized swimming club in Indiana and attained recognition at the national level.
The two teams combined in 2009.
