Sean Barry Elite Team Coach
Christina Lapinskas Head Coach

Coach Christina is in her fourth year of coaching and has been swimming for as long as she can remember. Having Grown up in West Lafayette she swam at West Lafayette high school before continuing her career at Purdue University. After college Christina continued swimming at the Masters level, in Boston, Los Angeles and currently with iSwim here in Lafayette. Since returning to Lafayette Christina has been active in the local swimming community, not only as an athlete, but also as a coach. She has spent the last three years coaching for Boilermaker

Aquatics and iSwim Masters. For the past two years she served as the volunteer assistant coach with the Purdue Women’s team.

Coach Christina is devoted to building strong individuals in and out of the pool. She emphasizes quality training with a strong skill base at every level of the program.  

In her “free time” Coach Christina enjoys spending time with her fiancé Trevor, his two sons and their French Bulldog Stephen.

Amanda Cox Administrator/Coach Coordinator

After creating Maverick Aquatics in 2009 and building Fish Aquatics Amanda has decided to take a different role. After stepping back on deck responsibility to spend time with her young kids, she will now serve as the team’s administrator and coach coordinator. We’re excited to have Amanda’s leadership an experience in developing our newer coaches.  Throughout her career she has coached multiple state champions, division one college athletes, jr. national qualifiers, and an Olympic trail qualifier. 
In addition to coaching Amanda is a Biology and Honors Biology teacher at McCutcheon High School where she started as a high school assistant coach in 2002, and took over as the head coach in 2005. Under her direction, McCutcheon won the school's first sectional titles and scored in the top 15 at State. 

Paul Stockett Lead Coach - Gold

Coach Paul has over 5 years of coaching experience ranging from learn-to-swim through senior level swimmers. He is an ASCA Level 2 certified coach and is heavily involved in the governance side of the sport where he serves on both local and national swimming committees. Coach Paul became the first athlete to receive the Safe Sport National Impact Award for his work.

 During his swimming days, Coach Paul swam for the Suburban Seahawks Club prior to swimming for Purdue University where he earned two Bachelors Degrees in Aerospace and Nuclear Engineering. Coach Paul is passionate about his research, so when he is not coaching or working on swimming governance, he is continuing his research in plasma physics for aerospace applications as well as working on his Masters in Nuclear Engineering with an emphasis on space propulsion. In the rare free time that Paul does have, he enjoys going on adventures with friends and watching Netflix.

At Fish Aquatics, Coach Paul primarily works with the Gold Group, where he focuses on teaching proper technique and building strong work ethic for young swimmers; in addition to valuable life lessons for their success.

Colin Mothersead Lead Coach - Red & White

Colin is in his second year of coaching swimming. He came to Fish Aquatics in the fall of 2016 and has coached or assisted with levels ranging from early developmental to high school/senior. 

Colin likes to promote a fun, competitive environment at practice  with a focus on technique and learning to race. He firmly believes that the foundation of success lies in a strong athlete-coach relationship, and a love for the sport of swimming.

Outside of coaching, Colin spends most of his time training with the FISH Elite team, but also enjoys participating in triathlons, playing video games, and spending time with friends.

He recently graduated from Purdue with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, which he intends to use following the completion of his swimming career in the fall of 2020.

Austin Goodman Lead Coach - Red & White

In 2017 Austin came to Fish from the Cass County Seals where he had served as head coach. Austin started off as the lead coach for white and yellow while assisting with the senior team as well as West Lafayette’s high school team. This year he is excited to be one of our lead coaches for the White and Red groups. During his career Austin has had the opportunity to work with swimmers from the divisional, state, and zone levels. Austin comes from the Delphi area where he was a state qualifier before continuing his swimming career at Ball State University. In addition to coaching our age groupers, seniors, and high school swimmers, Austin has continued his swimming career as a member of Fish, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him! 

Robyn Eddy Lead Coach - Green & Yellow

Coach Robyn has over 3 years of experience coaching both senior and age group swimmers. Robyn was a local area swimmer who began coaching as soon as she retired. She works with the developmental age group swimmers focusing on the fundamentals of each stroke and getting their feet wet in the world of competitive swimming. 

Robyn is currently a sophomore in Purdue’s school of nursing. A few days a week you may also find her waitressing at Route 66 and Triple XXX Family Restaurant. When she has free time she enjoys studying, baking, and watching Netflix. 

Chris Knipp Lead Coach - Green & Yellow
Andrew Chorpenning Sr. Assistant

Coach C has been coaching swimmers for three years.  He started as a Head High School Coach for Scecina Memorial High School in Indianapolis.  It was there that Coach C found his passion and love for coaching the sport.  In the summer of 2016, Coach C was offered and took an opportunity to teach and coach at McCutcheon High School.  During his time at McCutcheon, Coach C has been actively involved.  He has served previously as a FISH Aquatics Head Age Group Coach as well as Assistant High School Coach for MHS.

  This year, he is excited to take on the new role of Lead Senior Coach.  Coach C focuses on creating a positive culture and climate where mistakes are used to make improvements for the future.  Coach C encourages setting both honest and ambitious goals. 

Coach C thoroughly enjoys watching the Boston Bruins and Indy Fuel hockey teams as well as exercising.  He also enjoys cooking and spending time with his Fiancée and his corgi Wally

William Ehresman Sr. Assistant
Coach Will has been coaching swimming for the last nine years.  He started coaching as an assistant coach for a summer league team in Ohio and head girls high school coach for Vandalia Ohio. After moving back to Indiana, he had the opportunity to coach for Maverick  Aquatics and become the assistant girls' coach at Harrison High School.    In addition to coaching club and high school, Will is also the head middle school swim club coach at Harrison.    When not on the pool deck, Will teaches science at Battle Ground Middle School, where he enjoys helping students develop a love of science, and when not working spending time with his wife and dog.

 

Jacob McGough Sr. Assistant
Coach McGough has over 3 years of coaching experience with age group and senior level swimmers. Prior to his coaching career, he swam for Clovis Swim Club and Purdue University.  During his swimming career, he qualified for the 2012 Olympic Trials in the 200 IM.    
Coach McGough has a Bachelors and a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and is currently working on his PhD.  When he is not swimming or working toward his degree, Coach McGough enjoys cooking and spending time outside.
