Coach John Gibson awarded IN Swimming 2014 Jim Clark Coaches Award

Coach John Gibson was recently awarded the 2014 Indiana Swimming Annual Jim Clark Coaches Award at the Annual IN Swimming House of Delegates Meeting last weekend in Indianapolis.   The award description and the nomination letter are listed below.

JIM CLARK MEMORIAL AWARD:  This award is presented to a coach who has shown a continued, active effort in the development of Indiana Swimmers and the programs that USA Swimming and Indiana Swimming provide.  Criteria includes:  Past and present coaching expertise as demonstrated by the quality and quantity of top performing athletes and the dedication to the sport as exhibited in their service to swimming and their work within the USA Swimming structure.

This year’s recipient of the Jim Clark Memorial Coaches Award is JOHN GIBSON.  As Senior Chair of Indiana Swimming, John has been very active in the LSC/State and dedicated to supporting efforts to increase the performance and support of athletes across our LSC and Indiana.  In addition, John has gone above and beyond in supporting and assisting at National meets hosted by Indiana Swimming.  In 2013 for the World Championship trials, he secured a major sponsorship that enhanced the meet experience for our visiting athletes.  John also provided great support and manpower during our hosting of the 2014 Speedo Champions Series.  John has developed into a respected and outstanding leader on the Indiana Swimming Board of Directors as well as continuing to develop his club’s athletes in and out of the pool at NACS (Northwest Aquatic Club Swimming).
