PIKE Invitational – An informational email about the PIKE Fall Invitational (October 25-27 @ Pike HS) went out earlier this week to all participating families. Good luck to all WTSC swimmers competing this weekend! Please speak with your group coach if you have questions about this event.

WTSC Fall Festival – All WTSC swimmers (Riptides, Whitecaps, Breakers, Crest, Tsunami & Senior), families and close friends are invited to the annual WTSC Fall Festival on Friday, November 1, from 6-9pm at Eagle Forge Farm in Westfield. This traditional event in a very cool setting is a fun way to enjoy the fall weather and some time away from the pool with a bonfire, food and hayrides for the kids! WTSC will provide hot dogs, drinks and plates/utensils. All attending families are asked to pitch in the following items according to last name:

  • A to J – Starch side
  • K to R – Salad or fruit side
  • S to Z – Dessert side
  • All families – Bring your own camping chairs for the bonfire!

The cost for this event is $5 per person (maximum of $20 per family) that will be billed directly to your account. A page for this event is now live on the club website where you can RSVP just like you would for a swim meet. When signing up, indicate the total number of people in your family attending in the comment box. If you have more than one swimmer, please RSVP your entire group via one swimmer only. Please RSVP by October 30 to allow us adequate time to plan and prepare. We hope to see a big crowd on November 1; please speak with Coach Josh if you have questions about this event.

November Practice Schedule – The November practice schedule – which also includes the last few days of October – is now posted on the club website. Please note a few important notes regarding the November schedule:

  • There will be no practice next week on Thursday, October 31 (Halloween) or Friday, November 1 (Fall Festival – see above).
  • There are several changes to the Saturday schedule due to the start of high school swim season next week. Please follow the new Saturday schedule carefully.
  • Tsunami will now offer a Friday morning practice in November.
  • There are several changes to the schedule the week following our Holiday Champs Invitational (see below), which is also the week of Thanksgiving and the first two North Central home meets. Stay tuned for more information about that week of practice.

Crest Parent Meeting – There will be a Crest parent meeting in the pool classroom at 5:30pm on Wednesday, November 6. Please speak with Coach Tori if you have conflicts or questions.

WTSC Holiday Champs – It’s never too early to start thinking about our showpiece event of the first semester, the WTSC Holiday Champs (November 22-24 @ North Central HS). This is a highly regarded meet and attracts fast swimmers from throughout the Midwest for our unique prelims/finals format. A major reason for the reputation of this meet is our awesome volunteers and we will need you once again to help us host another great event. Please review the worker requirements for this event in your registration materials and speak with Business Manager Jennifer Buddenbaum if you have questions. All WTSC swimmers in Whitecaps, Breakers, Crest, Tsunami and Senior have been pre-entered in this meet. If your swimmers have conflicts, the deadline to make changes to their commitment is November 1. Please speak with your group coach if you have questions about this event.

Deck / Locker Room Reminders – This is a friendly reminder that parents are not allowed on deck during swim practice or in the locker rooms due to insurance reasons and according to Safe Sport policies. The WTSC coaches value our parental support and appreciate your time and commitment to the club. Coaches are available before and after practice – and always via email – to answer questions or talk but not during practice. Parents needing to assist younger swimmers in changing clothes are encouraged to use the single restrooms adjacent to the main locker rooms.

Pick-Up Reminder – This is a friendly reminder to pick-up your swimmers from practice within 15 minutes of the scheduled end of their practices. Parents and family members are welcome to observe practice from the bleachers to ensure that a timely ride home is available, and we encourage you to work with fellow WTSC families on carpools and pick-up/drop-off arrangements. Swimmer safety is our highest priority so please help us make sure everyone gets home quickly after practice.
