Katie Countryman picked up a new Zones and Age Group State cut in the 200 Freestyle and a new AG State cut in the 500 Freestyle. WTSC Groundhog Invite – We are a few short days away from our final major hosted event of the season, the WTSC Groundhog Invitational (January 31-February 2 @ NCHS). This meet is shaping up to have a competitive field and we are looking forward to seeing our swimmers in action and once again, we will need our awesome families and workers to help make it happen. Job signups are now open for this event. Please click the “Job Signup” button on the meet page on our website to see which shifts are available. This event is subject to the worker requirements described in your registration packet. Please speak with WTSC Business Manager Jennifer Buddenbaum if you have questions about the worker requirements. Entries for this meet are now closed and are available online and at the pool for your review. Please speak with your group coach if you have questions about entries. Thank you for your continued support of WTSC and get ready for another great weekend of racing and hosting.

Northside Invite Distance – Our traditional late-season showdown with some of the best competition in the state, the Northside Invite, is fast approaching. As we have done in past years, WTSC will host the Friday night distance events (February 21 @ NCHS; warmups @ 4:45pm / meet @ 5:30pm) and this year, the Saturday and Sunday events will be at Hamilton Southeastern HS (see below). Unlike other WTSC hosted events, our swimmers will not be pre-entered in this meet. If your swimmer(s) would like to participate in this event, our in-house registration deadline will be Monday, February 10. We will need help running this short but sweet session of racing in the usual positions (officials, timers, Colorado & computer operator, etc.) and a small job signup will be available closer to the event. If your swimmer(s) will be competing in this session, please step up and fill a shift. And please note that if you intend to swim additional days of this meet – Saturday and/or Sunday in addition to Friday – you need to sign up for both separate events. Please speak with your group coach if you have questions about this event.

Northside Invite – This is the companion piece to the Northside Invite Distance (see above), the Northside Invite (February 22-23 @ Hamilton Southeastern HS). This meet is appropriate and encouraged for all Whitecaps, Breakers, Crest and Tsunami swimmers. Event selection is now live for this event on the team website, and our in-house deadline will be Monday, February 3. If you intend to swim additional days of this meet – Friday in addition to Saturday and/or Sunday – you need to sign up for both separate events. Please speak with your group coach if you have questions about this event.

PIKE Last Chance Meet – Online registration and event selection is now open for the PIKE Last Chance Meet (March 1 @ Pike HS). This meet is appropriate for all Whitecaps, Breakers, Crest, Tsunami and Senior swimmers and is a perfect opportunity to take one last shot and Divisional and State cuts or simply race one last time before the end of the season. Our in-house deadline to signup for this event will be Friday, February 21. Please speak with your group coach if you have questions about this event.

Coach Ashley is a teacher at Nora Elementary School and works with the North Central HS team and is a North Central and WTSC alum.
