Groundhog Invite Recap – It was another great weekend of hosting and racing last weekend as WTSC welcomed more than 500 swimmers and their families to North Central HS for the Groundhog Invite. As has been said many times and can’t be said enough, thank you to our awesome families and workers for your time, energy and dedication to our team. Our meets continue to grow and be successful because of your efforts and support. We appreciate everything you do for the team and this time around, you set a stage where the WTSC swimmers shined as always. An updated Honor Roll is posted online and at the pool, but the following swimmers deserve some special shout outs for their efforts. Leading the charge was Elaina Spicer, who added her name to the Honor Roll for the first time in her career with the first Divisional cut of her career in the 50 Freestyle. The following swimmers also grew their Divisional lists with new cuts at the Groundhog: Vivian Baker (200 & 500 Freestyle), Charlotte Buening (200 Freestyle), Jack Campbell (200 IM), Cadel Easterday (50 & 100 Backstroke), Kiernan Fahey (50 Backstroke), Liam Fahey (200 Backstroke), Rohan Fahey (100 Freestyle), Jack Steadham (200 Butterfly), Kate Weigand (200 Breaststroke), Justin White (200 Breaststroke), Annie Wolfe (100 Freestyle) and Sammy Wolfe (200 IM). And picking up blue ribbons on the weekend were Lurilla Bereveskos (200 Freestyle; 100 & 200 Backstroke) and Sebastian Granados (100 Freestyle; 100 Breaststroke; 200 IM) who finished first in their respective events. Check out the Honor Roll for these highlights and many more. Thank you to our families and congratulations to our swimmers on another successful WTSC event.

Congratulations – This weekend was a big weekend for our WTSC Senior girls who represented their schools in the IHSAA Sectional championships. WTSC swimmers compete for Bishop Chatard, Brebeuf and North Central and our girls turned in many outstanding performances at their respective meets. Way to go ladies on all your efforts and best of luck to those swimmers moving onto next weekend’s IHSAA State Finals.

Northside Invite Distance – Our traditional late-season showdown with some of the best competition in the state, the Northside Invite, is fast approaching. As we have done in past years, WTSC will host the Friday night distance events (February 21 @ NCHS; warmups @ 4:45pm / meet @ 5:30pm) and this year, the Saturday and Sunday events will be at Hamilton Southeastern HS (see below). Unlike other WTSC hosted events, our swimmers will not be pre-entered in this meet. If your swimmer(s) would like to participate in this event, our in-house registration deadline will be Monday, February 10. Also, a job signup page is now live for this event. If your swimmer(s) will be competing in this session, please step up and fill a shift. And please speak with your group coach if you have questions about this event.

Northside Invite – This is the companion piece to the Northside Invite Distance (see above), the Northside Invite (February 22-23 @ Hamilton Southeastern HS). Entries for this event are now closed, pending acceptance into the meet, and draft entries are now posted at the pool and online for your review. Please speak with your group coach if you have questions about this event.

PIKE Last Chance Meet – Online registration and event selection is now open for the PIKE Last Chance Meet (March 1 @ Pike HS). This meet is appropriate for all Whitecaps, Breakers, Crest, Tsunami and Senior swimmers and is a perfect opportunity to take one last shot and Divisional and State cuts or simply race one last time before the end of the season. Our in-house deadline to sign up for this event will be Friday, February 21. Please speak with your group coach if you have questions about this event.

February & March Practice Schedule – A practice schedule for the remainder of the short course season has been added under the “Practice Schedule” tab on our website. All dates and times are subject to change, and any changes will be communicated ASAP. Please follow this document carefully and speak with your group coach if you have any questions.
